If you're on the market for a digital mini scale, we recommend a number of professional mini digital scale. The various models we recommend can weigh up to 500 grams at 0.1 gram incremental acuracy.

Here is a checklist you should have when shopping for your digital scale:

• Buy From a Real Scale Company
  Many scale low quality products manufactured in various factories (mainly in China) and sold by trading companies for very low prices. There has been a glut of low quality / low cost scales coming out of China. Check consumer reports before buying your scale so you won't end up with poor service and low quality products.
• Accurate
  Needless to say, if your scale isn't accurate, why bother in the first place? Test your scale a few times with different marked weights several times and see if it gives you the same result each time.
• Recalibratable
  Some models are missing a recalibration button as a result of manufacturers trying to cut costs. If you purchase one of these models, test your scale with marked weights. If you find your scale to be inaccurate you will have to constantly compensate for the weight discrepancy - something that could easily be rectified with a simple recalibrate button.
• On/Off mode
  Choose a scale with an On/Off button. You don't want to have to wait (and hope) for the scale to auto-off after a few minutes. If the scale won’t auto-off you’ll have to remove the batteries to turn the scale off.

Two years ago the average pocket scale sold for $150.00. Now the average pocket scale sells for $65.00! That's more then a 50% decline in 2 years! Many digital scales are now manufactured in China, however not all of these are actually manufactured by Chinese companies. Some are made by reputable companies who have switched their manufacturing plants to China to cut costs. Always do a search on the company you wish to buy for before purchasing your scale.
